Many beginnings come together to accomplish one goal: make artisan ales worth a celebration. This is our story…
Cameron Lund and Grant Lodholz joined forces while still in college. These early days of home brewing fostered a fledgling passion for craft beer, and provided a creative outlet for the young brewers. In 2015 they adopted the name "Bluewood Brewing" as a nod to the nicknames for their college homes: one called “Ol' Blue” and the other known as “Plywood" because this is where they found their love of the craft.
Their unique offerings and approach to the art of brewing helped establish their presence and products in the local brewing community. The pair earned a following and reputation with their unique artisan ales, pushing them to take their passion and create a professional production. By the end of 2016, the two combined their brewing knowledge and expertise with the efforts of Michael and Joseph Jones to form the "original four" and pursue a permanent home for Bluewood.
We found that home in the historic Lemp stables, and opened our doors to the public in September 2019. As the Bluewood team grows, we continue to push the limits of the art and science behind our beers. We look forward to serving you in the taproom!

Cameron (please, call him Cam!) has lived in Kirkwood, MO for most of his life, giving him a rich appreciation for the St. Louis area.
In December of 2014, he graduated from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO, and began his professional hydraulics engineering career.
Alongside his career, his reputation for his homebrews gained reputation and a following in the St. Louis area, allowing him to pursue his dreams of starting his own brewery!
Outside of his work in hydraulic design and taking Bluewood Brewing to the professional scene, he is a foodie who enjoys St. Louis BBQ and beer. Once an avid cyclist, he prefers to spend his free time fly-fishing in southern Missouri in cold trout streams and camping with his friends.
Catch him for a pint, as he would love to tell you more about his brewing adventures and crazy stories!

Grant was born and raised in Kirkwood, and even works three blocks from his childhood home. He graduated from Mizzou with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and where he first found his love of brewing. While attending Mizzou he started brewing with his friend Jeff Landsford, at first as a joke but soon developed into a life-long passion and dream to start his own brewery. He has a fierce pride for the St. Louis area, so it’s only fitting that STL be the opening location of Bluewood Brewing.
Grant currently works for a family owned company called DEMA Engineering as a design/sustaining engineer. Outside of work and brewing, you can find Grant with his two dogs hiking along trails, visiting campsites or under the trees in beautiful national parks. As an avid hiker and backpacker, Grant has a passion, bordering along obsession, for the outdoors. His hiking conquests include completing the John Muir Trail, Rim to Rim to Rim on the Grand Canyon, parts of the AT, CDT, PCT and the Ozark Trail just to name a few. Grant also enjoys rock climbing and hitting the pavement for an evening run. Did you know he’s even competed on teams for several half and full marathons?
Be sure to ask him about his adventures over a beer, he always loves meeting new people!

Jerry is the newest edition to our brewing family. Joining in 2018 Jerry has brought considerable insight and direction, using knowledge gathered through his generous involvement in the beer scene throughout 6 of his past 9 lives. It is because of this that our brewing family has affectionately call Jerry the “Dalai Lama” of beer.
Jerry was born in eons past, before written language, farther back than even human memory can recall, before even the first beer was even discovered; although many speculate that it was Jerry who gave man beer, at great risk to himself. There is some debate among those great historians, if giving man beer is the reason he was banished by the gods and forced to walk among us mortals. Or if Jerry chose of his own volition to leave his godly abode to speak for the beer nerds. Jerry has fought against the many plights set upon the beer world, the greatest being the great and terrible forced sobriety of the years 1920 to 1933.
Jerry can be found wherever the beer is, refilling the empty glasses of those in need, and has been known to spare those less fortunate the unspeakable fate of drinking shitty beer. It has also been said that Jerry does not feel the effects of alcohol as we less mortals feel, but instead must have it to live and is strengthened by it; gaining increased intelligence, speed, agility, and endurance. So if you see Jerry, count yourself lucky and fill his glass!
